Ceylon Tea Trails offers guests an amazing experience with picturesque locations; many enjoy exploring the area on foot, taking in the views of tea plantations and Castlereagh Lake. Guests frequently praise the beautiful rooms, some even describing them as spacious suites, equipped with great bathrooms. The food receives consistent positive feedback, with individually planned meals and exceptional tea-time treats from the on-site bakery; however, some guests have noted humidity in some of the estates. Really good Stay, A True Gem!

wonderful drawing roomfriendly staffmagnificent facilitiesperfect rooms
We arrived and entered a wonderful drawing room and we were encouraged to treat it as our own. The staff were friendly and helpful. Those few days were spoiling! The facilities were magnificent, and the rooms equally so.
The room was quite old, and it was not well kept, especially in certain areas.
Rooms

The Garden Suite included a king-sized bed and a seating area with plush chairs. The bathroom featured two separate sinks and a rainfall shower. Amenities included high-quality toiletries and fresh towels were provided daily.
Location

The hotel sits amidst lush tea plantations and rolling hills, providing scenic views. Walking trails surrounded the hotel, allowing guests to explore the area. The peace was unparalleled, with minimal outside noise.
Dining

The restaurant had a varied menu with local and international dishes, all prepared to a high standard. The breakfast included fresh fruit, pastries, and cooked-to-order items (especially the pancakes!). Dinner service had a relaxed atmosphere.
Facilities

The hotel featured a swimming pool with comfortable loungers and shaded areas. There was a well-equipped gym with treadmills and weights. A spa offered various treatments. I indulged in a massage and felt rejuvenated.

Very nice Stay at a Beautiful Estate

comfortable journeyexpert driverimmediate arrivaldamp linen
I booked a taxi from Colombo. The journeys were comfortable, safe and very informative thanks to expert drivers. I felt at home immediately upon arrival.
The aggressive payment policies and unfulfilled signature experiences. The linens felt damp throughout my stay. Dehumidifiers would improve the comfort.
Facilities
9/10
The estate offers magnificent walks to burn off some calories (the food is great!). There are multiple bungalows available, each with its unique character. I particularly enjoyed the hikes and tea factory tour.
Service
10/10
The staff ensured all my needs were met. The team was wonderful, and the service was very attentive. Little touches, for example, Nessa was helpful, and chef Gayan described every meal.
Location
10/10
The location is fine, offering views of the lake, mountains and tea plantations. This hotel is in a beautiful area. It provides a serene and picturesque escape from the outside world. (I highly recommend visiting!)
